Tomorrow's telephony will be delivered as data.  That much we know.  The question is what is the correct business model for that delivery.  Ted Turner will want to deliver his film library as either a single view or "burn your own"  product available over the internet.  He won't really care which delivery system (Cable or telephone) delivers his product.  Sports are the same .  Current technology allows high schools to put their games on the web.  If I want to watch my alma mater from 1000 miles away I can.  The upshot of all this is that content is about who wants to provide it and what it is worth on the market.  The cable or telephone companies will be providing bandwith.  Telephony will only be a small part of that bandwidth equation.
