October 13, 1998 NETWORK RELIABILITY AND INTEROPERABILITY COUNCIL MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 9:30 A.M. Michael Armstrong, Chief Executive Officer of AT&T and Chairman of the Network Reliability and Interoperability Council (NRIC), will convene a meeting of the NRIC on Wednesday, October 14, 1998. Commissioner Michael Powell, Chair of the FCC's Task Force on Year 2000 Conversion, and John Koskinen, Chair of the President's Council on Year 2000 Conversion will also participate. The meeting will start at 9:30 a.m, in the FCC Meeting Room, Room 856. It will address Year 2000 computer date (Y2K) issues and other issues concerning the reliability of the Nation's telecommunications network. The members of the rechartered NRIC includes CEO's from the communications industry, manufacturers, representatives of consumer groups, and others.
