FCC PROPOSES $28,000 FORFEITURE AGAINST UNIVISION RADIO LICENSE CORPORATION FOR APPARENT VIOLATION OF TELEPHONE BROADCAST RULES

Washington, D.C.: The Federal Communications Commission today issued a $28,000 Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture against Univision Radio License Corporation (and its subsidiary, Tichenor License Corporation) for the apparent willful broadcast of a telephone conversation between an on-air radio personality and the recipient of the call without first informing the recipient that the call was being broadcast.

The Commission concluded that the call apparently violated the FCC's telephone broadcast conversation rules.

By the Commission: Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture, FCC 05-11, January 12, 2005. Chairman Powell, Commissioners Abernathy, Copps, Martin and Adelstein.
