FCC FINES THREE LICENSEES FOR JOINTLY VIOLATING RADIOFREQUENCY RADIATION LIMITS

Washington, D.C.: The Federal Communications Commission today released a Forfeiture Order imposing forfeiture penalties of $10,000 each against Radio One Licenses, LLC, licensee of FM radio station KKBT; Infinity Broadcasting Operations, Inc., licensee of FM radio station KRTH-FM; and Telemundo of Los Angeles License Corporation, licensee of TV station KWHY-TV, for violation of Commission maximum radiofrequency (``RF'') radiation exposure limit rules. The licensees all operate from towers located on Mt. Wilson, near Los Angeles, California.

The RF radiation rules protect the public and workers from excessive RF radiation.

Action by the Commission on December 8, 2004, by Forfeiture Order (FCC 04-281). Chairman Powell, Commissioners Abernathy, Copps, Martin, and Adelstein.
