FCC DENIES INDECENCY COMPLAINTS AGAINST “COUPLING” EPISODES

Washington, D.C.: The Federal Communications Commission today issued a Memorandum Opinion and Order denying 48 complaints filed by the Parents Television Council and others alleging that NBC Telemundo License Co., the licensee of station WRC-TV, Washington, D.C., and other NBC affiliates, aired indecent material during the September 25, October 2, October 9, and October 23, 2003 episodes of the “Coupling” program.

The Commission found that the episodes were not sufficiently graphic or explicit to be indecent.

By the Commission: Chairman Powell, Commissioners Abernathy, Copps, Martin and Adelstein, FCC 04-235, October 1, 2004.
