Washington, D.C. - Elizabeth H. Valinoti has been named Legal Advisor to the Chief of the FCC's Enforcement Bureau. She will be responsible for advising the Bureau Chief on wireless, international, and homeland security issues as they relate to communications industries.
Most recently an Acting Legal Advisor to the Enforcement Bureau's Chief on broadcast indecency matters, Ms. Valinoti's FCC career also includes serving as senior attorney in the Media, Enforcement and Wireline Competition (formerly Common Carrier) Bureaus. Before joining the Commission, she practiced communications law in the Washington, D.C. office of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky & Popeo, P.C. She was also Manager of Federal Regulatory Affairs for TDS Telecommunications Corp., and Manager of Government Relations for the National Exchange Carrier Association.
Ms. Valinoti received her J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, where she earned specialized certification from the Institute for Communications Law Studies and served as Lead Articles Editor of CommLaw Conspectus: Journal of Communications Law and Policy. She received her B.A., cum laude, in Journalism from the University of Georgia.
