A number of Contel companies acquired by GTE did not become part of the GTE companies; rather, they remained separate until GTE disposed of them. Until they were acquired by GTE in 1992, the holding company for these properties was Continental Telephone Company (COTC) . After acquisition, and through 1995, GTE continuously filed the ARMIS Service Quality (43-05) Report at the holding company level for these and all other Contel properties.

1990 - 1993

The following operating companies and study area jurisdictions were under the control of Contel before GTE acquired all Contel properties during 1992. During 1993, GTE sold or otherwise disposed of the following Contel properties.

Contel - Kansas (COKS):

Sold to Lynch Communications on 11/30/1993.

Contel - Maine (COME):

Sold to New England Industry Group on 7/31/1994.

Contel - Nebraska (CONE):

Property sold in 1992.

Contel - New Hampshire (CONH):

Sold to New England Industry Group on 7/31/1994.

Contel - North Dakota (COND):

Sold to T. P. C. on 10/31/1993.

Contel - South Dakota (COSD):

Sold to Golden West on 10/31/1993.

Contel - Vermont (COVT):

Sold to New England Industry Group on 7/31/1994

Contel - West Virginia (COWV):

Contel - Oklahoma (COOK):

Contel - Wisconsin (COWI):

Contel - Oklahoma & Wisconsin were never separate study area jurisdictions, but were part of other Contel study areas. However, Contel filed separate ARMIS reports for these COSAs. Contel - Oklahoma was part of the study area jurisdiction Contel - Arkansas (COAR). Contel - Wisconsin was part of the study area jurisdiction Contel - Illinois (COIL). Upon acquisition of Contel, GTE stopped filing ARMIS reports for these COSAs, starting in 1993, and included its data in COAR and COIL.
