Statement of FCC Chairman William E. Kennard

I am pleased to hear that Mexico has begun to resolve some of the
outstanding issues that have impeded telecom competition in that
country.  I await further details to determine whether this
action goes far enough to bring the true benefits of competition
to consumers in the U.S. and Mexico.
