STATEMENT OF FCC CHAIRMAN WILLIAM E. KENNARD |
||||||||
I want to commend NBC Television for offering the major party Presidential candidates the opportunity to appear on its evening news broadcast each night this week to discuss important issues in this election. Network television is unique in its ability to reach the majority of the national population. This year, as we are engaged in the closest presidential election in decades, the networks' role in informing voters is critical to the public discourse. This commitment by NBC enhances the democratic process and truly serves the public.
