           STATEMENT OF FCC CHAIRMAN WILLIAM KENNARD
              ON USA NETWORKS, INC.'S CREATION OF 
     KAITZ FOUNDATION BROADCASTING AND NEW MEDIA PROGRAMS 
                    FOR WOMEN AND MINORITIES


     I commend USA Networks, Inc., for initiating and creating new diversity initiatives at the
Kaitz Foundation.  These initiatives will help shatter the glass ceiling of opportunity for minorities
and women in the broadcasting and new media industries.

     These new initiatives of the Kaitz Foundation will not only provide direct benefits to
women and minorities; they will also spur further support from other foundations and industries
that share my goal of expanding opportunities for all Americans.
