July 14, 1994 COMMISSIONER RACHELLE B. CHONG ADDRESSES INTV BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING FCC Commissioner Rachelle B. Chong on July 12, 1994, addressed the INTV Association of Independent Television Stations Board of Directors Meeting. The meeting was held at the Washington Court Hotel on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Commissioner Chong spoke briefly about her experiences on the way to becoming the first Asian-American to be appointed an FCC Commissioner. Chong stated that one area she would focus on would be that of children's television programming. She spoke of the need to produce programming for children that is both entertaining and educational. In closing, Commissioner Chong urged those in attendance to seek innovative ways to improve broadcast service, to ensure that they remain competitive in the changing landscape of the communications world. -FCC-
