AND ALLTEL COMMUNICATIONS, INC. TO TRANSFER CONTROL OF WIRELESS LICENSES WT Dkt. No. 00-81 Pursuant to sections 4(i) and 310(d) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C.  154(i), 310(d), and sections 0.331 and 0.261 of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R.  0.331, 0.261 the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and the International Bureau approve the applications requesting Commission consent to transfer control to ALLTEL Communications, Inc. ("ALLTEL") of licenses and authorizations currently controlled by subsidiaries and affiliates of SBC Communications Inc. ("SBC"). These applications pertain to Cellular Radiotelephone Service, Paging Services, Satellite Earth Stations, and Fixed Microwave Services licenses. No comments or petitions to deny were received in response to the public notice announcing that the applications had been accepted for filing. See DA 00-1881, released August 17, 2000. This transaction is related to the proposed U.S. wireless joint venture between SBC and BellSouth Corporation ("BSC"). On May 4, 2000, SBC and BSC filed applications seeking consent to transfer control of most of their domestic mobile wireless authorizations to a newly created joint venture, Alloy LLC ("Alloy"). The transaction contemplated by the applications granted herein is intended to resolve cellular overlaps in the New Orleans cellular geographic service area that would result from the combination of SBC's and BSC's wireless properties. Pursuant to section 1.103 of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R.  1.103, the consent granted herein is effective upon release of this Public Notice. Pursuant to sections 1.106(f) and 1.115(a) of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R.  1.106(f), 1.115(a), petitions for reconsideration and applications for review may be filed within thirty days of the release of this public notice.
