FCC TO HOLD OPEN COMMISSION MEETING

The Federal Communications Commission will hold an Open Meeting on the subjects listed below on Thursday, September 12, 2002, which is scheduled to commence at 9:30 a.m. in Room TW-C305, at 445 12th Street, S. W., Washington, D.C.

TITLE:  2002 Biennial Regulatory Review -- Review of the Commission’s Broadcast Ownership Rules and Other Rules Adopted Pursuant to Section 202 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.

SUMMARY:  The Commission will consider a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking concerning its media ownership rules pursuant to Section 202(h) of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.

CONSUMER & GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS

TITLE:  Rules and Regulations Implementing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 (CC Docket No. 92-90).

SUMMARY:  The Commission will consider a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and Memorandum Opinion and Order concerning possible revisions to the rules on unsolicited advertising over the telephone and facsimile machine and the possible establishment of a national do-not-call list.
