The forum, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Commission Meeting Room on February 16, 2000, will be open to the public. This second Public Notice extends the deadline for applications to participate from December 31, 1999 to January 14, 2000. Speakers will include FCC personnel, representatives from companies whose products showcase particular new technologies, and representatives of industry and trade groups associated with these technologies. The focus will be on unlicensed spectrum use, including wireless Internet access, wireless LANs, and ultrawideband, as well as the business opportunities involved with these technologies. Companies and organizations participating in the forum will be invited solely at the discretion of OCBO and OET. Any company interested in participating should therefore send a copy of its company profile and a description of its technology or service to the representatives of OCBO and OET listed below. Preference will be given to small companies which have not taken part in an FCC forum, tutorial, or similar demonstration in the past. We hereby clarify the limits on participation stated earlier: Participants must either be marketing or using equipment which is already authorized by the Commission (or for which an application for authorization has been submitted to the FCC), or be a trade group of companies involved with the new wireless technologies. Selections of participants will be announced in a Public Notice to be issued in January 2000.
