FCC TO HOST SPECTRUM AUCTIONS CONFERENCE
This one-day conference is designed to inform potential participants and investors about services proposed for auction by the FCC in the coming year. Topics to be discussed include 800 MHz Specialized Mobile Radio (lower 80 and general category channels), 220 MHz, Paging, 39 GHz, Location Monitoring Services, Public Coast Stations, broadcast opportunities, and the reauction of FCC-held licenses from prior auctions. There will also be panels on financing and contracting.
FCC Chairman William Kennard will deliver opening remarks. Other prominent speakers include Harold Furchtgott-Roth, FCC Commissioner; Larry Irving, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information, National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA); Jere W. Glover, Chief Counsel for Advocacy, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA); Dan Phythyon, Chief, FCC Wireless Telecommunications Bureau; and Catherine Sandoval, Director, FCC Office of Communications Business Opportunities.
