COMMISSIONER NESS NAMES JORDAN GOLDSTEIN AS LEGAL ADVISOR FOR COMMON CARRIER ISSUES
Commissioner Susan Ness has announced the appointment of Jordan Goldstein as a Legal Advisor. Goldstein will focus on common carrier issues.
Goldstein joined the Commission in June 1996. He presently serves as legal counsel to the Common Carrier Bureau Chief. Prior to his current position, he was an attorney in the Policy and Program Planning Division of the Common Carrier Bureau. In his years with the Common Carrier Bureau, Goldstein worked on a wide variety of issues involving implementation of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.
Before joining the Commission, Goldstein was an attorney advisor in the Office of Chief Counsel of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. He also previously served as a law clerk for The Honorable James B. Loken of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Before attending law school, Goldstein worked on Capitol Hill as a policy analyst for the congressional Arms Control and Foreign Policy Caucus and as a legislative aide to Senator William Proxmire.
Goldstein received a B.A., with Distinction, in Economics and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin, an M.A. in International Relations from The Johns Hopkins University, and a J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he served on the Stanford Law Review.
In announcing Goldstein's appointment, Commissioner Ness said, "I am delighted that Jordan will be joining my staff. His expertise in common carrier issues and his intellect will be enormously valuable as we address complex convergence and competition issues."
