February 5, 1999 RENEE LICHT TO BE NAMED DEPUTY MANAGING DIRECTOR Renee Licht, Deputy Chief, Mass Media Bureau, will be named Deputy Managing Director. She will oversee and coordinate the Commission's reorganization. Managing Director Andrew Fishel said "I am delighted that Renee will be joining me during this crucial period in the management of the FCC. I look forward to working with her and taking advantage of her long and varied experience at the Commission." Licht served as Deputy Chief of the Mass Media Bureau since April 1994. She has held a wide variety of other posts at the Commission, including Acting General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, and adviser to several Commissioners. Licht joined the FCC in 1979 after graduating magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal. Licht has been active in the Federal Communications Bar Association, and presently serves as a trustee of the FCBA Foundation. - FCC -
