FCC TO HOLD OPEN FORUM ON ELECTRONIC FILING SYSTEMS
JUNE 25, 1998

On Thursday June 25, from 10:00 am to 12:00 p.m., the FCC will host an open forum on the FCC's Electronic Filing initiatives. The forum will include presentations on what new services are available now, and what improvements are under development. The forum will be held in the Commission Meeeting Room (856) at 1919 M St., NW, Washington, DC, and is open to the public.

This open forum is designed to give individuals and organizations who use the Commission's Internet site the opportunity to find out how to use electronic filing most effectively and to make suggestions for improvements to our systems. Hands-on demonstrations will be provided during and after the forum.

Systems which will be presented include the Electronic Comment Filing System, the Electronic Tariff Filing System, the Universal Licensing System, the Equipment Authorization System, the Electronic Fling and Modernization of the Experimental Licensing System, and the International Bureau's Filing System.

A question-and-answer period will give attendees the chance to ask specific questions about our electronic filing initiatives. In addition, representatives of Commission Bureaus and Offices will be available for hands-on demos of the systems being presented. Taped copies of the meeting will be available from the Commission's tape duplicating contractor, Infocus International, 341 Victory Drive, Herndon, VA 20170, (703)834-0100. All written handouts will also be available shortly after the forum at the Commission's World Wide Web site: http://www.fcc.gov/.

Seating for this Open Forum and the hands-on workshops is limited, so please reserve a space early by contacting Arminta Henry at (ahenry@fcc.gov) or (202)418-0260.
