At the request of KG Broadcasting, Inc. ("petitioner"), licensee of Station WKGB- FM, Channel 223A, Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, the Commission has before it the Notice of Proposed Rule Making, 12 FCC Rcd 10406 (1997), proposing the substitution of Channel 223B1 for Channel 223A at Susquehanna, and the modification of Station WKGB-FM's license accordingly. To accommodate the upgrade, petitioner also requested the substitution of Channel 248A for Channel 221A at Walton, New York, and the modification of Station WDLA-FM's license accordingly. Petitioner filed comments in support of the proposal reaffirming its intention to apply for the channel, if allotted. On December 1, 1997, petitioner filed comments requesting the dismissal of its petition for rule making. 2. As stated in the Notice, a showing of continuing interest is required before a channel can be allotted, and absent such an expression of interest, it is the Commission's policy to refrain from allotting the channel. Therefore, we will grant petitioner's request to dismiss its petition. 3. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED, That the petition for rule making filed by KG Broadcasting, Inc., IS DISMISSED. 4.
