Report No. SPB-123A April 10, 1998 SATELLITE POLICY BRANCH INFORMATION: By previous public notices, proceedings concerning the transfer of control of DBS authorizations at the 119 and 110 degree orbital locations were declared "permit but disclose" proceedings for purposes of the Commission's ex parte rules. By this public notice, two additional and related proceedings are designated as "permit but disclose" proceedings pursuant to Section 1.1200(a) of the Commission's rules. This action is taken in order to insure uniformity of treatment under the ex parte rules for these closely factually related proceedings. The following two proceedings will be treated under the "permit but disclose" provisions: TEMPO Satellite, Inc. File No. 98-SAT-EXT-98 TEMPO Satellite, Inc. has filed an application for extension of its authorization to operate a direct broadcast satellite (DBS) system. EchoStar Satellite Corporation/Directsat File No. 92-SAT-STA-97; 93-SAT-STA-97 Echostar and Directsat have requested special temporary authority to use channels 22-32 at the 119 degree orbital location. - FCC -
