Commission's Office of Engineering and Technology Announces Panelists and Topics for Roundtable On DTV Receiver Compatibility With Cable Television Service |

As announced previously on April 21, 1999, the Commission's Office of Engineering and
Technology, in cooperation with the Office of Plans and Policy, will host a roundtable to discuss
technical issues and progress towards development of standards related to compatibility between
digital television (DTV) services provided by cable and other video distribution services and
consumer electronics equipment. These roundtable discussions will permit representatives from
the cable, broadcast, program production, and consumer electronics industries to address the
technical issues with respect to these issues and progress that has been made to developing
voluntary industry standards for compatibility. Time and Place: This roundtable discussion will be held on Thursday, May 20, 1999, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., in the Commission Meeting room at the headquarters building of the Federal Communications Commission, 445 12th Street, S.W., Washington, D.C. 20554.
