February 27, 1998 OET Prototype Electronic Form 731 The Office of Engineering and Technology, in conjunction with Dyncorp, Information and Engineering Technology, plans beta testing of the electronic Form 731, Application for Equipment Authorization, March 2 - 13, 1998. During the beta testing period, interested parties are invited to use the prototype electronic Form 731 to file test applications with the FCC. These test applications will not receive grants of authorization. The data received will be used as input for the testing and implementation of the new equipment authorization review process. Those parties who are interested in filing electronically are encouraged to file a test application and learn about the new system while assisting the FCC during this testing period. During the testing period, an applicant who requires a grant of authorization must continue to submit a paper Form 731 with attachments following established procedures. A Public Notice will be issued announcing full implementation of the new equipment authorization electronic filing option. The currently projected date for full implementation is early May 1998. The on-line Form 731 can be accessed via the Internet at www.fcc.gov, proceeding to the Electronic Filing site, then to the Application for Equipment Authorization (Form 731). The Form 731 can then be accessed through the Equipment Authorization System (EAS) Electronic Filing site. The EAS site can be accessed directly at https://dettifoss.fcc.gov/beta/oet/index.html.
