FCC ANNOUNCES THE NEXT MEETING OF THE NORTH AMERICAN NUMBERING COUNCIL

(CC Docket No. 92-237)


 The next meeting of the North American Numbering Council (NANC) will be held on Tuesday, January 19, from 8:30 a.m., until 5:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, January 20, from 8:30 a.m., until 12 noon. The meeting will be held at the Federal Communications Commission, 1919 M Street, N.W., Room 856, Washington, D.C.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: This meeting is open to the members of the general public. The FCC will attempt to accommodate as many participants as possible. The public may submit written statements to the NANC, which must be received two business days before the meeting. In addition, oral statements at the meeting by parties or entities not represented on the NANC will be permitted to the extent time permits. Such statements will be limited to five minutes in length by any one party or entity, and requests to make an oral statement must be received two business days before the meeting. Requests to make an oral statement or provide written comments to the NANC should be sent to Jeannie Grimes at the address under AFOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT,@ stated above.

  1. Approval of meeting minutes.

  2. Local Number Portability Administration (LNPA) Working Group Report.

  3. Industry Numbering Committee (INC) Report.

  4. Lockheed Martin, North American Numbering Plan Administration (NANPA) report on audit work plan which will include the methods, procedures, scope and frequency of service provider audits.

  5. Cost Recovery Working Group Report.

  6. North American Numbering Plan Billing and Collection Agent (NBANC) Report.

  7. Numbering Resource Optimization (NRO) Working Group Report. Update on work plan for revised Central Office Code Utilization Survey or other proposed data collection model.

  8. North American Numbering Plan Administration (NANPA) Oversight Working Group Report. Discussion of performance matrix for purposes of the NANPA annual review. Discussion of Lockheed Martin filing of December 21, 1998, regarding divestiture of its Communications Information Systems (CIS) unit.

  9. Steering Group Report. Discussion regarding proposed methods to improve NANC meeting efficiencies.

  10. Further discussion regarding numbering issues in which Aconsumer preference@ information would be desirable. Contribution statements by NANC members will identify two or three issues and if possible, contain a data source for the information.

  11. Other Business.
