Bell Operating Companies Petition for Forbearance from the Application of Section 272 Regarding Certain Activities, Memorandum Opinion and Order, CC Docket No. 96-149, DA 98-220 (rel. Feb. 6, 1998). In that order, the Common Carrier Bureau granted the petitions of BellSouth and other Bell Operating Companies, pursuant to section 10 of the Communications Act, for forbearance from the application of the separate affiliate requirements of section 272 to their E911 services and to BellSouth's reverse search directory assistance services. In so doing, however, the Bureau imposed certain conditions and established dates by which those conditions were to be met. In its petition, BellSouth seeks reconsideration of certain aspects of those conditions. Interested parties are to file an original and 12 copies of their comments on the BellSouth petition no later than May 11, 1998, with the Secretary, FCC, 1919 M Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20554. An original and 12 copies of all reply comments are to be filed with the Secretary, FCC no later than May 27, 1998. All pleadings are to reference CC Docket No. 96-149. An additional copy of all pleadings must also be sent to Janice M.
