SWBT filed an additional letter with the Bureau on May 9, 1997. On May 16, AirTouch Communications, Inc.; AirTouch Paging; AT&T Wireless Services, Inc.; and PageNet, Inc., filed a letter responding to SWBT's April 25 letter. On May 22, 1997, the Bureau released a Public Notice seeking public comment on those letters. On December 30, 1997, the Chief, Common Carrier Bureau issued a letter (Letter) to Southwestern Bell Telephone; AirTouch Communications, Inc.; AirTouch Paging; AT&T Wireless Services, Inc.; and PageNet, Inc in reply to their letters to the Bureau. The Letter stated, in pertinent part, that the Bureau "conclude[s] that the Commission's current rules do not allow a LEC to charge a provider of paging services for the cost of LEC transmission facilities that are used on a dedicated basis to deliver to paging service providers local telecommunications traffic that originates on the LEC's network." On January 29, 1998, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, Pacific Bell, and Nevada Bell (SBC); and U S West, Inc., filed an Application for Review by the full Commission of the Letter. On January 30, 1998, Ameritech filed an Application for Review by the full Commission of the Letter. On that same day, SBC filed a Petition for Stay Pending Commission Review of the Letter. Interested parties may file comments on SBC's Petition for Stay on or before February 10, 1998, and reply comments on or before February 17, 1998; and may file comments on the Applications for Review on or before February 23, 1998, and reply comments on or before March 5, 1998, with the Secretary, Federal Communications Commission, 1919 M Street, N.W., Room 222, Washington, D.C. 20554. Comments and reply comments on both the Petition for Stay and the Applications for Review should reference CCB/CPD 97-24. An original and four (4) copies of all comments and replies must be filed in accordance with Section 1.51(c) of the Commission's Rules, 47 C.F.R.  1.51(c).
