                             ORDER

Adopted:  January 30, 1998              Released:  January 30, 1998  

By the Commission:

     1.   Pursuant to Section 410(c) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, the
Commission appoints the Honorable William E. Kennard, Chairman of the Federal Communications
Commission, and the Honorable Michael K. Powell, Commissioner of the Federal Communications
Commission, to serve on the Federal-State Joint Board on Jurisdictional Separations, CC Docket No.
80-286.  These appointmens fill the positions recently vacated by the Honorable Reed E. Hundt,
former Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, and the Honorable Rachelle B.
Chong, former Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission.  The Commission
gratefully acknowledges the contributions of Reed E. Hundt and Rachelle B. Chong to the work of
the Federal-State Joint Board.

     2.   Furthermore, pursuant to Section 410(c) of the Communications Act of 1934, as
amended, the Honorable William E. Kennard, Chairman of the Federal Communications
Commission, shall serve as the Chair of the Federal-State Joint Board on Jurisdictional Separations,
CC Docket No. 80-286.

     3.   Henceforth, a copy of all filings in this proceeding shall be served on Chairman
Kennard and Commissioner Powell at the following addresses:

     4.   Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED that, pursuant to Section 410(c) of the
Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. 410(c), the Honorable William E. Kennard,
Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, and the Honorable Michael K. Powell,
Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission are appointed to, and that Chairman
William E. Kennard shall serve as the Chair of, the Federal-State Joint Board on Jurisdictional
Separations, CC Docket No. 80-286.
