April 15, 1998 MERYL S. ICOVE NAMED ASSOCIATE BUREAU CHIEF CABLE SERVICES BUREAU Meryl S. Icove has been named Associate Bureau Chief to the Cable Services Bureau. She had served as Special Assistant to the Bureau Chief/Legal Advisor in the Cable Services Bureau. Prior to her current position, Icove was a staff attorney working on cable-related matters in the Cable Services Bureau and the Mass Media Bureau. She joined the Commission in 1992 as a staff attorney for the Audio Services Division of the Mass Media Bureau handling regulation of radio broadcast stations. Icove also serves as Director of the Commission's Disabilities Issues Task Force. In that capacity, she directs the Commission's outreach to persons with disabilities and oversees rulemaking proceedings and other efforts to ensure that persons with disabilities have access to mass media and telecommunications services. She earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1992 and her B.A. from Cornell University in 1988. She is a member of the bar of the District of Columbia. - FCC -
