DA 03-3744, Released 11/24/03, CC DKT 99-200 and 95-116 Order RE: Western Wireless Petition for Limited Waiver of Local Number Portability and Thousand-Block Number Pooling Obligations: The order finds that Western Wireless has not demonstrated that special circumstances exist for an extension of the porting and pooling deadlines until May 24, 2004, or that such an extension is in the public interest. The Bureau, however, declines to enforce Western Wireless’s LNP and pooling obligations until sixty days after the release of the Order.

FCC 03-196, Released 8/11/03, CC DKT 99-200 Order RE: Order grants in part the California Public Utilities Commission's request for waiver of the Commission's contamination threshold rule. The California Commission seeks authority to raise the contamination threshold from ten to twenty-five percent throughout California. The Commission, however, grants the California Commission a limited waiver to raise the contamination level in the 310 and 909 area codes while it implements are area code relief in those areas.

FCC 03-140, Released 6/26/03, CC DKT 99-200 Memorandum Opinion and Order RE: The Commission denied CTIA's petition for forbearance from further scheduled increases to the numbering resources utilization threshold, which is currently at 65%. The utilization threshold requires carriers to use a specified percentage of numbers in their existing numbering inventory before they can receive additional numbering resources.
