(MediaOne") CS Docket No. 99-251 Dear Ms. Truong: This letter responds to the request by the Bureau staff for updated information regarding AT&T's deployment of local telephone services nationwide. AT&T currently provides residential local telephone service to approximately 555,000 customers/lines nationwide using network element combinations obtained from incumbent LECs ("UNE-P"), resold local service, cable telephony, fixed wireless, and services provided over AT&T facilities to multi-dwelling units ("MDUs"). AT&T provided local telephone service via UNE-P to 359,300 billed lines as of May 1, 2000. It also provided resold local service to approximately 125,000 lines as of December 31, 1999. As publicly reported, AT&T provided local telephone service to 60,000 customers nationwide via cable telephony as of May 19, 2000.
