The Federal Communications Commission is joining with the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) and the National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates (NASUCA) to support "National Telephone Discount Lifeline Awareness Week" September 13-19, 2010.

In today's increasingly interconnected world, telecommunications services provide a vital lifeline to emergency services, friends, and family. No American should be without these connections simply because they cannot afford a basic telephone. This Awareness Week is designed to raise awareness of and participation in Lifeline and Link-Up, two federal/State programs that provide crucial financial assistance for qualified consumers.

Below is important information about both programs and the Awareness Week. Help us spread the word to someone in need.
