Purpose/Objective:
To consider the application of the criteria contained in Recommendation ITU-R S.1323 to the analysis of interference from stations in the terrestrial fixed-service into NGSO FSS earth station receivers, in view of the fact that this interference is of a time-varying nature.
To contribute to the ITU-R work aimed at determining the feasibility of co-frequency operation of NGSO FSS networks and FS stations.
To respond to the referenced resolution and questions in preparation for WRC-2000.
To provide technical information for inclusion in a liaison statement from WP 4-9S to JTG 4-9-11 with the objective of contributing towards the development of CPM-99 Report text.
Abstract:
This paper explores the possibility of applying the interference criteria contained in Recommendation ITU-R S.1323 to define the protection required by NGSO FSS earth stations with respect to the interference produced by FS stations.
This possibility should be explored in view of the time-varying nature of the interference.
An example procedure and some preliminary results are presented, which
can serve as a guideline for developing the most appropriate interference
criteria applicable in these interference situations.
