SEMINAR ON CERTIFICATION OF TELECOMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT

IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

The International Bureau has received written information from the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the Russian Federation about a seminar on Certification of Telecommunications Equipment in the Russian Federation, to be held on 24-25 April 1997 in Moscow. Simultaneous translations in Russian and English will be provided.

The Ministry's seminar program, administrative details, and application form are available, as a convenience to interested U.S. individuals and organization, in the International Bureau's Reference Room, Room 102, 2000 M Street N.W., Washington, D.C. Copies (5 pages each) also may be obtained from the Commission's contractor for public service records duplication: ITS, Inc., 2100 M Street, N.W., Suite 140, Washington, D.C. 20037, (202) 857-3800. Please note this is not an FCC-sponsored event.

As noted in Report No. IN 97-3, released February 4, 1997, the International Bureau has placed the handbook on procedures for certification of telecommunications equipment in the New Independent States (NIS), including the Russian Federation, on its home page, at http://www.fcc.gov/ib/pd/md/nis/. Printed hard copies of the handbook, in both the English and Russian languages, will be available in March, and hard copies of the home page version of the handbook currently are available from the IB Reference Room and ITS, Inc.
