Read_me.doc This file was created by Gary Kalagian on 4-28-89. The directory TOPO contains the Commission's topographic data base and the FORTRAN subroutines that should be called by various application programs to read the topo data and calculate height above average terrain ( HAAT ). This directory also contains routines needed to convert the raw topo data to the compressed format of the production data base. The name of the production data base is TOPO.DAT. There are five files that contain the raw data. They are: file name blocks --------- ------ topo1.dat 37234 topo2.dat 38475 topo3.dat 22002 topo4.dat 36444 hawaii.dat 2230 On April 28, 1989 the entire TOPO directory was copied to tape and put into the Honeywell tape library. The honeywell tape name is BXX001P1TOPO. Two copies were made. One copy is stored on site in the tape library, the other copy is stored off site. After the tapes were made, the above 5 raw data files were deleted in order to recover the disk file space because we are having a shortage of file space to develope new systems and data bases.
