Normas Para la Facturación Veraz

La Comisión ha adoptado las normas para la Facturación Veraz para hacer que los consumidores comprendan mejor sus cuentas telefónicas. Entre otros requisitos, la sección 64.2401 de las normas exige que la cuenta de la compañía de teléfono debe: (1) incluir una descripción del servicio o de los servicios ofrecidos que sea clara, breve, sencilla y que no sea engañosa; (2) debe identificar el proveedor de servicio asociado con cada cargo; (3) identificar clara y visiblemente cualquier cambio en el proveedor de servicios; (4) debe reflejar descripciones de los cargos completas y que no sean engañosas; (5) determinar qué cargos no llevarán a que se desconecte el servicio básico local que se ofrece al consumidor si este deja de pagarlos; y (6) habilitar un número de teléfono gratuito para que los clientes llamen si desean presentar una queja u obtener información.

La Comisión también determinó que todos los proveedores de telecomunicaciones deberán usar denominaciones estándar en las cuentas, cuando se refieran a los cargos relacionados con acciones reguladoras federales, como cargos por servicio universal, cargos por la línea del abonado y cargos por la portabilidad del número de teléfono local.
