PUBLIC NOTICE Federal Communications Commission 1919 M St., N.W. Washington, D.C. 20554 R eleased: June 13, 1996 A NTENNA STRUCTURE REGISTRATION NUMBER R EQUIRED AS SUPPLEMENT TO FCC APPLICATION FORMS E FFECTIVE JULY 1, 1996 By Report and Order in WT Docket No. 95-5, released November 30, 1995, the Commission adopted rules to streamline the Commission's antenna structure clearance process by requiring owners to register their antenna structures with the Commission between July 1996 and June 1998. The registration requirement generally applies to structures more than 60.96 meters (200 feet) above ground or located near an airport. Detailed information concerning the registration process is contained in PR 5000 Number 15 (Fact Sheet for Antenna Structure Registration). Copies are available from the FCC's Forms Distribution Center at 1-800-418-FORM (3676) or through the internet at http://www.fcc.gov/wtb/antstruc.html. Upon registering an antenna structure with the Commission, an owner will receive a Registration (FCC Form 854R) containing a unique 7 digit Registration Number which uniquely identifies the structure. The owner must provide each tenant licensee and permittee with a copy of the Registration. In turn, licensees and permittees must reference this registration number on all subsequent Commission filings. Effective July 1, 1996, each applicant for a new or modified FCC license or construction permit must specify a 7 digit Registration Number if the antenna will be mounted on a registered structure. If the application form does not provide a specific place to designate the registration number, the applicant must include it as an attachment. Because all structures will not be registered until June 1998, applicants may omit the registration number if the owner has not yet registered with the Commission. If you have questions concerning the new antenna structure registration procedures or the requirement to provide the Antenna Structure Registration Number with your application, please phone the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau Consumer Assistance Branch in Gettysburg, PA at 1-800-322-1117 or (717)338-2500. - FCC-
