Installing a Web Browser To use ULS, your computer must be configured with an Internet web browser. The following web browsers have been tested and are compatible with the ULS (NOTE: To remit fees using the on-line credit card payment method, you must download and use the 128-bit Strong Encryption version of the browser): Netscape Communicator 4.7 Netscape Communicator 4.61 Netscape Communicator 4.51 Netscape Communicator 4.5 The following web browsers are NOT compatible with ULS: Netscape Communicator 4.6 Netscape Communicator Versions earlier than 4.5 NOTE: To use ULS, your browser must be configured to Enable Java, Enable Java Script, and to Accept all cookies. To ensure that your browser is configured correctly, do the following from your Netscape browser: 1. Click on the Edit menu 2. Click on Preferences 3. Click on Advanced 4. You will then see a list of features. If a checkmark does not appear in the box to the left of the Enable Java, Enable Java Script, and to Accept all cookies features, click on the box until one appears. 5. Click on OK. You are now ready to use ULS. Installing Adobe Acrobat In addition, you must install Adobe Acrobat 3.0 Reader (or higher) as a plug-in to your web browser. Due to the fast pace of change in web browsers, new products are frequently becoming available. As new products are released, we will test them with the ULS and update our list of compatible browsers appropriately. Note: Some of the listed browsers may not be available. Refer to Help for instructions on downloading browser software and plug-ins.
