                      REGION 54 (CHICAGO) ANNOUNCES
                      AN APPLICATION FILING WINDOW
                    FOR THE 821-824/866-869 MHz BANDS


 Region 54 (Chicago Metropolitan Area) announces a Filing Window for submittal of radio
 channel allotment requests and license applications for radio frequencies in the 821-824/866-
 869 MHz band.  Region 54 is responsible for planning public safety radio frequency
 spectrum usage within the Southern Lake Michigan area in accordance with the Public
 Safety National Plan.
 
 Applications will be accepted for the filing window for Region 54 through 2:00 p.m. C.S.T.
 on October 1, 1998, inclusive.  All applications must be sent to:

 The next meeting of the Region 54 Regional Conformance Review Committee (RCRC) to

 Chicago, Illinois  60607.
