Report No. WT 97-32WIRELESS TELECOM ACTION August 4, 1997 ALABAMA AREA (REGION 1) PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING COMMITTEE RECEIVES APPROVAL FOR MINOR AMENDMENT TO ITS REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY PLAN (GEN. DOCKET NO. 90-280) By this notice, the minor amendment to the Region 1 Public Safety Radio Plan (Region 1 Plan) that revises the current channel allotments for radio frequencies in the 821-824/866-869 MHz bands within the Alabama Region is approved. On April 29, 1997, we received a letter dated April 24, 1997 from Region 1 (Alabama) proposing to amend the Region 1 Plan, which was adopted by the Commission on August 1, 1990, General Docket No. 90-280, 5 FCC Rcd 4871 (1990). In accordance with the Public Safety National Plan, each region is responsible for planning its use of public safety radio frequency spectrum in the 821-824/866-869 MHz bands. Report and Order, General Docket No. 87-112, 3 FCC Rcd 905 (1987). We have reviewed the Region 1 request, and find that the amendment furthers this goal. The amendment is considered a minor amendment and includes concurrences from each of the adjacent regions 9, 10, 23, and 39. Therefore, the amendment is accepted as submitted. The Secretary's office will place the amended Region 1 Plan in the official docket file where it is available to the public.
