FCC POSTPONES AUGUST 29, 1995 AUCTION DATE FO    R
493 BTA LICENSES LOCATED IN THE C BLOCK FOR
PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES IN THE 2 GHZ BAND

              
As a result of the order issued by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit granting
Omnipoint Corporation's Motion for Stay, the Commission, on July 27, 1995, postponed the
July 28th short-form filing deadline for the broadband Personal Communications Services
(PCS) "C Block" auction.  Omnipoint Corporation v. FCC, No. 95-1374 (D.C. Cir. 1995)
(Order Granting Motion for Stay, July 27, 1995).

In light of the delay caused by this stay and the pending review on the merits, the
Commission has decided to delay the commencement of the "C Block" PCS auction.  The
Commission will release a Public Notice announcing a new auction date at a later time.
