On June 10, 1996, the Coalition for a Competitive Paging Industry (Coalition) filed an Emergency Request for Waiver of Commission Rule 90.175 or, Alternatively, Request to Initiate Commission Oversight of PCIA Coordination Fees (Request). In the Request, the Coalition requests a waiver of Section 90.175 of the Commission's rules, which requires a showing of frequency coordination for 929 MHz private carrier paging (PCP) applications. On July 12, 1996, the Commission issued a Public Notice requesting comment on the Request. Comments are to be filed by July 22, 1996 and reply comments to be filed by July 29, 1996. 2. On July 19, 1996, the Coalition requested a seven-day extension of time for the filing of comments and reply comments. The Coalition argues that the extension is needed to enable individual paging companies, including Coalition members, to comment fully on the Request. The Coalition notes that while the Public Notice soliciting comments was released on July 12, many of its members did not learn of the notice until the following week because it was not listed in the Commission's Daily Digest until July 15, 1996. 3. We conclude that granting a brief extension of time will serve the public interest by allowing all interested parties, including individual paging companies, to fully comment on the Coalition Request. Accordingly, it is ORDERED that, pursuant to Section 1.46 of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R. 1.46, that the deadline for filing comments in this proceeding IS EXTENDED from July 22, 1996 to July 29, 1996, and the deadline for filing reply comments in this proceeding is EXTENDED from July 29, 1996 to August 5, 1996.
