September 16, 1999 DAN CONNORS TO JOIN WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU Dan Connors will be joining the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau's Commercial Wireless Division as Associate Division Chief when his detail as interim Senior Legal Advisor to Commissioner Susan Ness concludes later this month. He has been advising Commissioner Ness on international and wireless telecommunications policy since July 1998. Before that, he was an attorney-advisor in the International Bureau's Satellite Division. Prior to joining the Commission in 1997, Connors was a corporate attorney in private practice with Graham & James in San Francisco and Tokyo and with O'Sullivan Graev & Karabell in New York City specializing in mergers and acquisitions, project finance and other transactional matters. Prior to practicing law, he was a salesman with IBM and a telecommunications analyst at MCI. Commissioner Ness said, "I am extremely grateful to Dan for the wisdom, judgment, and long hours of service he provided while serving as my advisor. While I will miss his presence in my office, I am very pleased that the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and its staff will gain the benefit of his knowledge and experience." Connors received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, an M.B.A. from UCLA's Anderson School of Management and his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland. - FCC -
