File No. ETC-97-11 DA No. 97-1760 Dear Mr. Supran: On June 20, 1997, you filed a consolidated application on behalf of BecoCom, Inc. and RCN-BETG, L.L.C. for a determination that each is an exempt telecommunications company, pursuant to Section 34(a)(1) of the Public Utility Holding Company Act of 1935 (PUHCA), as added by Section 103 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996. The consolidated application was placed on public notice for comment on the adequacy and accuracy of the representations contained therein on June 23, 1997. Application of BecoCom, Inc. and RCN-BETG, L.L.C., Public Notice, DA No. 97-1309 (OGC rel. June 23, 1997). No comments were filed in response to the public notice. Based on the information set forth in the application, we find that both BecoCom and RCN-BETG are exempt telecommunications companies, as that term is defined in PUHCA Section 34(a)(1), as amended. As such, the consolidated application of BecoCom, Inc. and RCN-BETG, L.L.C. for a determination that each is an ETC is, therefore, granted.
