              FCC CLOSES EARLY ON DECEMBER 24, 1998



In accordance with the guidance issued by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management to implement the half-day
closing of government department and agencies on Thursday, December 24th, 1998, the Federal
Communications Commission will close its offices 
at 1:30 P.M. on December 24, 1998.  All filings, paper and electronic, due on 
December 24th, 1998, will be accepted as timely on the next official work day.
