             CORRECTION TO AUTOMATED SOFTWARE USED TO SUBMIT
                       1998 REGULATORY FEE PAYMENTS


This Public Notice is being issued to all users of the 1998 Regulatory Fee Automated Software. 
A Public Notice was issued on August 26, 1998, (GN 98-12) which provided information on how
to use this software program to pay 1998 Regulatory Fees. 

Users have brought to our attention that there is a software glitch in the payment type codes
and the corresponding fee value.   The result is that values are not applied properly for the
affected payment type codes.  ALL USERS OF THE DEFECTIVE SOFTWARE MUST
DOWNLOAD AND USE THE "FIX" TO ENSURE PROPER CALCULATION OF FEES (see
procedure No. 2).

A revised fee filer software program has now replaced the defective version issued on August 26,
1998, and is now available for downloading from the internet or purchase from ITS. 

1.  To download the revised fee filer from the FCC's Internet site:

               a.   Enter the http://www.fcc.gov address and hit return.  The FCC Home Page displays.
               b.   Click on the Fees link.  The FCC Fees page displays.
               c.   Click on the Software link.  The Public Notice displays.
               d.   Click on the Download Fee Filer Software link.  A directory of files displays.
               e.   Click on:
       i.   Feewin31.zip for Windows 3.x; or
       ii.  Feewin95.zip for Windows 95
               f.   Click on Save to Disk on the window that displays.  This will allow you to download the
          file to your local disk for access and use.

For those users who downloaded or purchased the defective software prior to this Public Notice, and
entered payment data, a "fix" software program has been developed to preserve the data entered and
ensure correct payment amounts are applied.  The "fix" software is also available for downloading
from the internet.





2.  To download the "fix" fee filer software from the FCC's Internet site:

               a.   Enter the http://www.fcc.gov address and hit return.  The FCC Home Page displays.
               b.   Click on the Fees link.  The FCC Fees page displays.
               c.   Click on the Automated Submission of Software link.  The Public Notice displays.
               d.   Click on the Download  "Fix" Fee Filer Software link.  A directory of files displays.
               e.   Click on:
       i.   Fxfeew31.zip for Windows 3.x; or
       ii.  Fxfeew95.zip for Windows 95
               f.   Click on Save to Disk on the window that displays.  This will allow you to download the
          file to your local disk for access and use.
               g.   After downloading, double click on the Update Fee Filer under "Fee Filer 98 Program
          Group".  This will run the update fee filer software.
               h.   Follow the instructions provided.  

A telephone HELP LINE is available and is staffed 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM(EST), at (202) 418-0554,
on business days.  Assistance is offered in downloading, installing and operating the software.  This
HELP LINE service will end at 5:00 PM on September 30, 1998.
