NEWS September 5, 1996 JOHN STERN NAMED SENIOR LEGAL ADVISOR The new Chief of the International Bureau, Don Gips, has appointed John P. Stern as senior legal advisor. John joined the Commission in January 1995 as a litigator in the Office of General Counsel. In February of 1996 John joined the International Bureau (on a detail) to work on satellite issues. John earned a B.A. from Harvard College in 1983 and a J.D. from Yale Law School in 1988. He was a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs in 1984-85. He clerked for the Honorable Morris E. Lasker, in the Southern District of New York, between 1988-90. John worked for four years in the Affirmative Litigation Division of the New York City Law Department before joining the FCC. -FCC-
