NEWS May 2, 1996 LEARN YOUR NOI'S: FCC OPEN FORUM ON HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FCC PROCESS On Friday, May 31, from 9 am to noon, the FCC will host an open forum on how to get involved in the FCC's decision-making process. The forum will provide guidance on such topics as how the FCC is organized, how the public can find out the status of FCC issues, how the FCC decision-making process works, and how to file comments in FCC proceedings. The forum will be held at Commission headquarters and is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. As the Commission works to implement the Telecommunications Act of 1996, many interested parties will continue to seek information on Commission actions and the opportunity to comment on various issues. This open forum is designed to give individuals and organizations who are new to the Commission's process the opportunity to find out how to participate in proceedings of interest to them. In addition, representatives of Commission Bureaus and Offices will be available for follow up questions on how to obtain information about specific subjects. Taped copies of the meeting will be available from the Commission's duplicating tape contractor, TelSpan International, (301) 731-5355. All written handouts will also be available at the Commission's World Wide Web site, http://www.fcc.gov. **************************** Mark your calendar now!
