NEWSReport No. CI 95-3 COMPLIANCE AND INFORMATION ACTIONApril 7, 1995 BROADCAST STATION INSPECTION VIDEO AVAILABLE National broadcasters now have a unique and realistic method to prepare for Federal Communications Commission station inspections -- by watching an actual inspection in progress on videotape. A "day in the life of" FCC agents inspecting a Denver television radio station was produced as a public service by the Society of Broadcast Engineers' Denver Chapter (#48), in partnership with the FCC Field Office in Denver. The field inspections were conducted by Engineer-in-Charge Leo Cirbo and Agent Jon Sprague. Broadcast station inspections (radio and TV) are conducted based upon random sampling, complaints, or in conjunction with strategic plans by the FCC. The video was developed to assist station owners, management, engineers, and employees in complying with FCC regulations. The videotape is available for exhibition or to assist in making presentations through the Denver FCC Field office by contacting: Christopher Haskell, Public Affairs Specialist at (303) 969-6497; internet: chaskell@fcc.gov.; or Leo Cirbo, Engineer-in-Charge. - FCC -
