NEWS March 14, 1995 SARA F. SEIDMAN DEPARTING FCC TO JOIN MINTZ, LEVIN Sara Seidman is leaving the FCC to join the law firm of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., as counsel, effective March 20, 1995. Since 1992, Seidman has served as Special Counsel in the FCC's General Counsel's Office. In that capacity, she provided legal and technical advice to the General Counsel on common carrier and wireless matters. For the past year, Seidman has been intimately involved in crafting the rules for spectrum auctions, with special emphasis on designated entity issues. Seidman worked in the Policy and Program Planning Division of the FCC's Common Carrier Bureau prior to her move to the General Counsel's Office. "Sara is an exceptionally talented lawyer who made significant contributions to the work of the agency," said General Counsel William E. Kennard. "She will be greatly missed." Prior to joining the FCC, Seidman was an attorney with the Washington D.C. law firm, Wiley, Rein & Fielding, where she specialized in broadcast and cable law. Before attending law school, she worked as a radio producer at the Voice of America and WRC Radio in Washington, D.C. Seidman graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center and received her BA from Grinnell College. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband Joel and two children, Risa and Daniel. -FCC-
