May 23, 1994 JANE E. MAGO NAMED SENIOR ADVISOR TO COMMISSIONER RACHELLE B. CHONG Jane E. Mago, the FCC's Assistant General Counsel for Trial and Enforcement, has been named Senior Advisor to new Federal Communications Commission ("FCC") Commissioner Rachelle B. Chong. A 16-year veteran at the FCC, Mago has served in a number of positions at the agency, including Legal Assistant to Commissioner Anne P. Jones and Deputy Chief of the Land Mobile and Microwave Division of the Private Radio Bureau. She began her career at the FCC in 1978 as a staff attorney in the Common Carrier Bureau and has also served as a member of the FCC's appellate litigation staff. Mago has been responsible for defending the FCC rules regarding radio deregulation, access charges, dial-a-porn services and broadcast indecency. Mago received her J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1978. She also holds a B.A. and M.A. in Communications from that university. She is a member of the New York State Bar. Mago, her husband, and their three children live in McLean, VA. -FCC-
