ABERNATHY APPOINTS JASON SCISM TO HER STAFF |

|
Washington, DC -- FCC Commissioner Kathleen Q. Abernathy announced today
that she has appointed Jason Scism to serve as her Special Assistant for congressional,
intergovernmental and industry relations. "Jason, as a summer intern, has become an
integral part of my office's outreach efforts. I look forward to him continuing his fine
work on a permanent basis," Abernathy commented. After completing his first year at George Mason University School of Law this May, Mr. Scism served in the office of FCC Commissioner Harold Furchtgott- Roth briefly before joining Commissioner Abernathy as a Legal Intern in June. Immediately preceding law school, Jason served as Staff Assistant and then Legislative Clerk for the House Committee on Commerce. Prior to that, he worked and interned for three members of the Florida congressional delegation. Mr. Scism graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida with a degree in Political Science.
